A classic EBM release very worth to be listened to! Favorite track: Mein Herz.

about

The debut by one of Germany`s most iconic rock acts starts out with a grim and rather apt sample – the overture to a landmark release in the field of Electronic Body Music in 1992. Berlin-based producer Jor Mulder signed OOMPH! in 1990 to his electro label Machinery Records. It`s only natural the self-titled album first caught on with the EBM / electro scene, but since OOMPH! worked with rock influences and catchy songwriting right from the start, just one scene soon became much too small for the trio. Über-hit ‘Ich bin Du‘ crashed the top ten of the US Independent Charts in 1992 / 93 and led to a sold-out live debut in New York – the start of huge things to come! After being out of print and highly sought after for years, you can finally lay your hands on a repress of this classic OOMPH! album!

Since their formation in 1989, OOMPH! has emerged as a highly influential band that has even inspired later Neue Deutsche Härte giants such as Rammstein. With "Richter und Henker", the masters prove that they remain a leading force in the scene, even after their first line-up change in more than 30 years of existence. ... more
